Winter 2024
"MADEIRA - THE SECRETS OF SISTERS” Bewley’s Café Theatre. January 6th - February 1st, 2025.
Written by Michael Harnett. Directed by Vinnie McCabe
Performed by Geraldine Plunkett, Deirdre Monaghan & Brenda Brooks
Two sets of sisters meet in a Dublin café for what was expected to be a casual and friendly meeting. But suddenly, out of the blue, disturbing news emerges which shatters the atmosphere. And worse, the devastating detail will challenge their lives ever after. In heartfelt exchanges, which by turns is searing yet amazingly sensitive, the women at the heart of this drama display what it is to have immense courage and fortitude.
DTT’s hugely popular play starring Geraldine Plunkett, Deirdre Monaghan and Brenda Brooks, MADEIRA brings together three of Ireland’s premier actors in a new drama by Michael J. Harnett, creator of The Noble Call, The Cloudspotter and Bullied. MADEIRA is deftly directed by IFTA nominated Vinnie McCabe who brings his unique dramatic sensitivity to a play which, at its heart, is a profound celebration of the love and loyalty between sisters.
